<image:caption>*Exclusively tele-health Hello and welcome. I can imagine that your journey has been a challenging one. Reaching out for help is no small feat; most likely, it took a lot of courage for you to arrive here. The idea of opening up to someone, who is unknown, takes a leap of faith. I want you to know it is my intention to be gentle with you in this process and that we will move at a pace that is catered to your needs. In each therapeutic relationship we settle into an approach that feels appropriate, remaining open to changes throughout treatment, whether short or long term. Just as no two people are exactly alike, neither are any two courses of therapy. An integral part of my work is to help individuals overcome trauma (relational and physical) along with the limiting beliefs and patterns that go along with those experiences. Often times people don't believe that their devastating stories of rejection qualify as trauma. I'm here to tell you that they do. Those experiences can have a similar impact on a person's nervous system and ability to function in the world. We will work together at unearthing the unconscious beliefs and patterns, rooted deeply in your history, that are leading you to feel stuck in different aspects of your life today. I have extensive training in working with trauma (EMDR levels 1 & 2), mindfulness and meditation, Attachment Focused Family Therapy (AFFT), psychodynamic theory, process groups, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). In addition to my formal clinical masters-level training in psychotherapy from the Smith College for Social Work (Master of Social Work), I have over 15 years of training in behavioral learning theory that is grounded in my prior work as a teacher and parent educator, as well as a masters degree in bilingual/diverse education (Master of the Arts). What this means for you, in our work together, is that we have access to a variety of methods and processes for you to begin the healing process. Over nine years of clinical experience as a mental health therapist has given me the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients and their concerns in a variety of settings, including the University of Colorado's Counseling and Psychiatric Services (Boulder, CO), Mental Health Partners (Boulder, CO), The Boulder Institute for Psychotherapy and Research (BIPR, Boulder, CO), and Axis Health System of Colorado (Cortez, CO). I have extensive experience and/or interest in working with individuals who are working through the following: Trauma (Relational and Physical) Bipolar Disorder Anxiety Depression Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) LGBTQI+ Identity Behavioral Addictions Divorce Domestic Violence/Abuse Family Conflict/Relationship Issues Food Addiction Racial Identity Grief/Loss Parenting Issues _____________________________________________________ INSURANCE For clients in Montana, I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Allegiance, Cigna, Medicaid, Missoula County and Pacific Source insurance. I am currently working on completing the credentialing process for insurance carriers in Colorado</image:caption>

Testimonials... "Last spring, as I was finishing up my dissertation, I went to the CU Boulder mental health center looking for some help with my depression and anxiety and I was placed with Jennifer. I can't speak highly enough of our time together. I left each of my sessions feeling so validated--my feelings of frustration, isolation, and helplessness were my feelings and there was a reason why I felt that way--Jennifer helped me see that it was OK (and important) to feel those feelings. She also helped me think about ways I could face the sources of those feelings which made me feel empowered. Jennifer is patient and empathetic and fun-loving. She will also give you homework if you like (which I do!). I left our time together feeling more compassionate towards myself, more thoughtful about my feelings and the feelings of others, and more confident to stand up for what I want and need to be happy." ~Sarah L. "I am so grateful for the help and professional guidance of Jennifer Franklin. Jennifer provides a safe space for her patients to be heard, acknowledged, and nurtured. The experience I had in Jennifer’s office was life-changing for me. During my own self-work, Jennifer’s support created a springboard for progress – personally, academically, and professionally. I trust Jennifer’s expertise and I’ll continue to value her helpful insights for years to come." ~C.C. "I never really thought I had any need for a therapist. Last year, I was an RA (resident advisor) for the University of Colorado Boulder and was told to direct my residents to a counselor there, if they were going through a rough patch in their life and needed a professional to talk to. I figured before I go referring anyone to anything I should see just what exactly I was suggesting when I offered counseling. I was incredibly nervous, but when I walked into Jennifer's office, she instantly put me at ease. She thoughtfully listened as I talked about my life from childhood to relationship problems and everything in between, all while asking thought-provoking questions. I returned every other week, where we focused on certain aspects of my life, Jennifer was great at picking out exactly how I was feeling about the topic at hand, and suggested countless resources and videos that could help me overcome situations we talked about in sessions." ~S.N.</image:caption>
